24 hrs
"24 hrs is an on-going project of writing in the streets of cities. The project began in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 2001, when I was living there for some months. The writing begins with my strangeness to the life around me: not knowing my way around, not knowing the language. The notations are done in handwriting. Simple descriptions observe a daily choreography of the street - and copy-write it. The audio excerpts presented here are based on "footage" from London. The project recently continued in Cyprus, Greece and Turkey." Excerpts from the Rio street-writings are published in "Untitled (Experience of Place)" Koenig Books London 2004. London street-writings will be presented on Resonance fm on 7 October 7-8.30 pm.
